Fence Repair Projects Need Immediate Attention
Fence repair and replacement projects takes many steps and different considerations based on the style of fence and how much of the fence is to be repaired. Repairing your damaged fence is the type of project that requires a solution quickly.
Fence Repair Is Inevitable
One project around your house that you just can't get around doing is fence repair. Due to the harsh climate in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex (where temperatures rise well into the 100's) repairing your fence will at some point become a necessity. Generally a wooden fence repair is less complicated and easier to fix than a metal or chain-link fence repair project, but both fence repairs projects need to be completed sooner rather than later.
Do I Repair the Damaged Fence or Replace the Entire Fence?
The first thing you need to ask yourself when you are getting ready to tackle a fence repair project is if you are going to replace the entire fence or just repair it. Evaluating the fence, more specifically the potential damaged area of the fence, is the first step. How much time and effort is going to be needed to repair the damaged area of the fence? If you are going to be repairing a small section of the fence it might not make sense to replace the whole thing, where as if the damaged section of the fence is rather large, the fence might look awkward or distasteful if you don't go ahead and replace the all of the fence.
Things to Consider About Fencing Project
After you have decided how much of the fence you are going to repair, the next step is to think of what all goes into the fencing project. Here is a list of things that will need to be completed in order for your fencing repair project to be complete (assuming you are NOT replacing the entire fence):
- Remove the area of the fence that is being repaired
- Get all the new fencing material needed to complete the job
- Complete the addition by adding the new fence
- Clean the area of the fence that is staying
- Match the new area of the fence with the existing fence
